Terry Bonchaka....His spirit still lives on In the life of every legend who had been cut short in their prime be it Bob Marley, Tupac Shakur, Bruce Lee or Elvis Presley, mysteries and controversies surround them even on to death.
The case of the late Terrence Nii Okan Mensah Adjetey (a.k.a) Terry Bonchaka, who died in a ghastly motor accident four months ago, is not different.
First is the fact that Bonchaka had over 40 unreleased songs, which is a record by any standards. Even his family was unaware of the extent the budding impressive show stopper had gone in his music career.
When his peers were resting on their oars. Terry was putting his creativity to work as if he knew he had very limited time on earth, a feat comparable only to that of the late Tupac Shakur.
The energetic musician whose sun set at his prime ? he was 21- unlike other contemporary hiplife artistes in his genre, no woman could be linked to him as he was rumored to be a virgin due to his strict upbringing. So, while others were using their creativity to sow wide oats, Bonchaka used his own improve his talent and stagecraft.
Those who had the benefit of watching him perform on stage, can testify that Bonchaka?s performance was like freshly squeezed fruit juice, unique and delightful.
For an artiste who had only an album to his credit before his death, his popularity was massive making him stand side by side with those who have been in the music business for decades.
Celebrated in life and death, the marmouth crowd that witnessed the wake keeping and funeral of the Icon still remains unprecedented in the show business history of Ghana.
Apart from selling music history, he also set fashion history with his old school style
