As a kid, George 'GYO' Gyimah, used to see video equipments of his dad (Charles Allen Gyimah of Video City Fame) that most kids did not get to see.
GYO was first introduced into the music business by writing concepts for artistes and especially for his big brother, Ogee, the genius. The first concept he built was for Obour with Ogee for the video, 'Mehu Yehuhu'. Hear this; GYO groomed and built Obour to where he is now.
?I wanted to develop in writing of concepts so I decided to start shooting the videos and edit them. I never put my name on any of my productions at first because I felt it was bad, so I wanted the viewers to watch the videos and let me know my mistakes?, he said
The unique angle about GYO as a video director is that he works fast and always gets you the best video. He can capture certain environments with such authenticity. This is simply because he grew up with them.
After GYO developed his craft as a skillful video director, combining his talent of writing concepts with artistic visions behind the camera he was involved more in shooting gospel videos clips.
GYO and his brother, Ogee all of Phamous People have continued to expand their directing talents in various mediums as they have both done some good commercials outside Ghana.
From music videos, to commercials, GYO?s creative palette has expanded through several visual channels. ?The competition is not in Ghana but the target is outside Ghana which we are reaching there gradually?.
GYO studied IT at Winsconton University and holds a first degree in Programming but dedicated most of his time on the course in writing concepts, shooting and editing of video clips.
As time went on, he merged ideas with his long time friend George Adjabeng (a Web developer) to bring out a company called Bleo Spidaz (web designers for Obour.com) whose future is to take IT business in Ghana far.
