Ghanaian artistes are doing 'singing-hall' not dancehall music

Shegee Styla who is currently a hit in the Dancehall music in Ghana said on the drive time show on Brong Ahafo based radio station duapa FM that most dancehall artist in Ghana needs to go back to school.

She said that most Dancehall artist in Ghana are doing “singing-hall” instead of “Dance Hall”.

She added “Most dancehall artist do not speak nothing sensible in their songs and therefore Ghanaians must hype people who have talents rather than musicians who are just trying or forcing themselves to do Dance Hall Music (Talent Over Hype instead)”.

In response to a question If she [Shegee Styla] can stand the heat looking at how other female dancehall musicians are doing in the country at the moment:

She answered, “we started dancehall in Ghana,still learning ,I believe in what i do but when it comes to stage performance no female dancehall musician in the country can stand me.

A little background search reveals her as the leader and founder of the first ever female musical group in Ghana “Triple M”.

Shegee Styla who is also known as “the godmother” says that there is currently no competition between her and the other female artist.

“I do the raga and the rest sing. I have been contacted by a lot of people in Jamaica, UK, and Uganda and across Africa because of my style”, she disclosed.

She is entreating her fans to watch out for her because two years from now, she will rise out from Africa to the rest of the world.
