Ghanaian Gospel musician Cwesi Oteng says he is praying for peace in the country especially during this electioneering period.
He has been speaking to Focus fm’s Kwame Poku (DJ Scientific) on his weekend programme the focus citi show.
In response to a question, Cwesi Oteng opined he is not totally opposed to collaborations between gospel musicians and secular musicians “depending on the project”. He explains that a gospel artiste could for instance work together with a secular artiste on a peace song. He says there are boundaries that should not be crossed especially when songs meant to worship a holy God features lose talking secular artistes who use unwholesome language and whose lifestyles don’t glorify God.
He maintains that modernizing Ghanaian gospel music is the way forward for Ghanaian gospel music and hopes his kind of gospel music will show the way.
He says he seeks to cut across cultures with his music so that people elsewhere can relate to it.
