To most hip hop and hiplife fans, Hammer of the Last 2 needs no introduction. In 2004, he released his first compilation titled “Sounds Of Our Time” which had hit songs like ‘You May Kiss The Bride’ by Boli and ‘Kwakwa’ by Kwaw Kese.
Hammer cited as one of the top sound engineers has built up a formidable reputation on the hiplife scene over the past six years, but for now, Hammer wants to direct his attention into the film Industry.
But before Hammer does that, he is currently recording his last album, which is coincidentally another compilation, titled “The Lost Files”.
Hammer is consistently one of the top sound engineers in the Ghanaian music industry and his brand of new boys on the new compilation will set the hiplife scene on fire. A few of the boys who have passed the auditioning for the compilation are Watchman, Osiboe, Owo, Bosom, Obadiah, etc.
“This is my final work at Hush Hush and this is also to say thanks to Hush Hush studio for tolerating me four years”, Hammer added.
After the release of the album, Hammer will join Yaw Anoff, the other member of Last 2 popularly known as Way Deep and also do a film course for six months.
Even though music was his hobby, he thinks the film industry lacks a lot and is the saviour of it.
Since he launched his entertainment career in 1999, Hammer has become a man of diverse success when it comes to hit albums. Asked why he wants to divert to the movie scene? He said “The promoters are killing the hiplife industry. The film industry also has a problem and am here to fix it”. Another avenue to the entertainment sector is the film industry, he said.
“The future of hiplife will see KSN (the Next page), Red Eye, Jay Foley (the other one) because I think I have to pave way for them”, he said.
For now, Hammer (the Hush Hush Bad Boy) is currently working on Obrafour, Joe Frazier, Akua Bed sheet and Scizo’s album. For more information about the new compilation please call 233 24 451 9130.
