A young promising and dynamic artiste, Eric Akoto has finally registered his musical career ambition with the launch of his maiden album 'Menten Gyinafo' featuring Andy Frimpong last Sunday at the Church of Pentecost, Kasoa.
The gospel album with eight songs, all written and composed by him was launched by Rev. Grabriel Ansah, a popular radio presenter of Adom FM.
Among the talented Eric Akoto's hits songs include the sensational 'Oko ye den' (praises and worship), 'Nyame ye Nyame', 'Odo a Yesu yii', 'Woaye bida', 'Nhyira', 'Se me wui' and other heart soothing and inspiring songs.
The launch attracted vibrant gospel artistes like Hannah Marfo, Sampson Annor, the Gospel Musician Union of Ghana, Osei Bonsu Jnr, and many other talented artistes. Eric Akoto was backed by another two promising upcoming musicians, William Owusu and Phibi Debrah.
According to Eric Akoto, he realized his musical talent during his Sunday school days, where he was encouraged by his church leaders to continue singing because "the future would be bright for me".
He said he has an ambition to preach the gospel of God to Ghanaians and the rest of world, he therefore decided to package his sermons through gospel songs due to the power and potential of music to transcend all barriers to visit multitude with the word of God.
"I chose gospel music and not secular music because I want to promote the work of God and I also found out that music is my talent, which I can rely on to achieve my objective. I started from Sunday school. I became the music director of SNAPS College. Also, I am the music director of the Kasoa area Scripture Union and I am still the district chorus leader of Church of Pentecost, Kasoa South".
The album was produced by Fly-Boy World Wide Records Company and would be available at other leading shops across the country soon.
