Music producer and talent developer, Edward Nana Poku, popularly known as Hammer has stated he does not work with artistes for long because he gets bored doing so.
The founder of the Last Two Music Group in an interview with Sammy Flex on Pluzz FM’s AM Pluzz on Thursday said he really enjoys working with new artistes as he helps them realise their dreams.
“We never keep artistes for too long because we get bored. When you become a star, it’s not appealing anymore. The Challenge that we have there is to push you from nowhere to the top. When you get to the top, then you pass,” he said.
Hammer also noted that he has the conviction everyone would want to manage his own affairs and that forms part of his reasons not to keep artistes after nurturing them.
“We have a stake in it [the artiste’s being] but we believe that everyman would want to eventually run his affairs. When you come into my world, you run affairs according to my way and I can’t do that forever. Eventually, you would want to express yourself, your business, strategy, brand like you want it so I just give you the push,” Hammer noted.
Indicating that the Last Two Music Group is a trademark with Image Volt Africa as the record label, Hammer said the label keeps artiste for a maximum of three years saying, “After three years, I don’t keep an artiste.”
Obrafour, Kwaw Kese, Sarkodie, Edem, Tinny and Tee Phlow are some of the artistes who were groomed by Hammer. The new addition is Okolie who just released a track titled, Profane featuring Tee Phlow.
