One of the most successful music producers of our time, Nana Akwasi Ansah Mensah of Agicoat Records has disclosed how he paid an amount of $1000 to radio presenters just to get his songs played on air, what is usually known as payola.

The issue of payola has been of great concern to some musicians who have complained bitterly about how presenters and DJ's refuse to play their songs because they do not pay payola.

Speaking in an intense interview with Gatuso, host of ‘Aben Woha’ on Kasapa 105.2FM, Agiecoat who was answering a question in line with the biggest amount he paid as Payola, the popular music producer delineated that:

"Payola really exists. The biggest payola I have paid is $1000 and that was in the year 2002 or so—but the presenter is now overseen.

Upon persuasion to mention the names of the presenters he paid them the $1000 Payola, Agiecoat who claims there is a tall list of presenters who engaged in the act implicated London-based radio presenter Fiifi Pratt whom according to him frequently received such monies.

Agiecoat, who is the CEO of Agiecoat Music, produced celebrated artistes like Buk Bak, Kontihene, and the late Okyeame Kojo Kumi.
