For George Brenya, it was one of those moments in his life that he could no longer run away from the pressing divine direction he had received - the direction to form a musical group with an evangelism focus to impact his immediate surroundings. And heeding to the vision, little did he know that the music group will grow to become a flagship gospel music ministry. Today that vision has evolved into the Impact Project Ministry (IPM), one of the finest and vibrant youthful music ministries in Ghana with rare musical breeds that have a strong passion for evangelism and a heart for charity.

Impact Project may not readily ring in your mind as a household name across the Ghanaian gospel music circuit, particularly the mainstream circuit, but this group is part of the notable few leading Contemporary (Urban) Ghanaian Gospel Music, a revolutionary gospel music genre that is mainly skewed towards outreach in communities and institutions (ministry oriented) and in doing so they are influencing the gospel scene with quality production and advocating evangelism as the prime aim of gospel music ministry.

Marking its ninth year this year, Impact Project is a little over 100 hundred in membership and membership is on a non-denominational base. The group comprises music geniuses mainly from the tertiary institutions in the country who have all come under one umbrella bonded by the love for evangelism which they relay in their creatively written and arranged music. Having headlined some gospel concerts in the Ghana and toured many schools as well as churches, the group has been identified as the future of Ghanaian gospel music. Their unique music style which incorporates crossover contemporary elements with African rhythms and the constant quest to provide the best in live ministrations make a strong case for the quality expected from gospel groups.

Impact Project’s came out with a concept for organising a concert five years ago and this has now become an annual gospel music concert, more like a festival. The yearly Evolution Concert is musical concept adopted by the ministry to provide a platform for a Christ-centred praise and worship experience in an enabling environment where every kindred, tribe and tongue (saved or unsaved) can experience the touch of God no matter the adversities that fraught mankind. The concert itself spans a total of four hours with captivating and inspiring live music presented in the most creative form at top level quality; in terms of instrumentation and ministrations which are sandwiched between inspirational footnotes and time for individual worship from time to time before the most important part, the altar call for salvation and re-dedication purposes.
