Sweet-voiced hiplife singer, Kwabena Kwabena has finally broken his silence on the incident of alleged poisoning at Best Brain Studios, where he claimed his water was poisoned when he went there on invitation to feature in the recording of a new album of another musician.
Kwabena Kwabena denied that he faked everything in order to draw publicity onto himself, as stated by the resident engineer to the press.
In an interview with P&P at the Bosco Showbiz Easter Carnival at the Trade fair Centre, Kwabena Kwabena explained that he had earlier decided not to revisit how the incident happened because he felt God had answered his prayer and saved him from imminent death.
But now that he is out of danger and has carved a name for himself in the music industry, he felt he has to set the record straight.
According to Kwabena Kwabena, he was invited by a friend to go to Best Brain Studios to feature in the recording of an album for?an upcoming artiste?and he agreed. He mentioned that when he arrived at the studio there were about six people there, including the resident engineer, popular called RoRo.
He explained that he had to pick something up so he left the bottled water he was drinking and went outside.
"When I came back I picked up the bottle and took a sip or two of the water. Suddenly I felt this searching pain in my throat and tummy".
According to Kwabena Kwabena, he began screaming for help, but surprisingly none of the guys he met at the studio bothered to find out what was ailing him. "I kept repeating I am dying, I am dying".
The musician explained that the friend with whom he went to the studio walked in at that moment and found him writhing in pain. So he quickly helped him into a car and sent him to the Trinity Clinic where a doctor gave him a drug that made him throw out all he ate or drank that day.
"When I was out of danger, the doctor told me I was lucky that I did not drink much of the water because if I had, I would not have survived because the water was seriously contaminated".
According to him, he complained to the studio after he got well, but then RoRo went to the press with a ridiculous accusation that he made it all up, so he decided not to comment on the matter.
"God, I would say, has blessed and made me achieve what many of my compatriots have not been able to do with their first album", he declared.
When he was asked whether Kontihene is his manager, Kwabena Kwabena answered in the negative and explained that Kontihene is a very good friend and since he (Kontihene) was already in the industry, "I solicited for help from him. But now he is busy working on his project and I am working on mine. That's it".
Kwabena Kwabena also denied that he has a grudge with Kontihene, explained that they have their different projects to do so they do not get closer like they used to.
The singer attributed his success at the just ended music awards to God's blessing and mentioned the sky would be the limit in his effort to be the best in the industry.
