As reported earlier in the media, Ogee was supposed to have directed videos for Kojo Antwi on his latest album, ?Tattoo? and some other top Ghanaian artistes, so we decided to find the whereabouts of Ogee of Phamous People.
Ogee has again been featured on Ghana Music.com and this time round tells us of what he has been doing, the kind of responsibilities he has as a video director, and offers advice to up & coming directors getting into the game.
?I personally write the storylines for the videos I direct. I believe an ultimate project should be very good and be marketed internationally and mine is to work with P. Diddy, CEO of Bad Boy Records?, he said after we asked what an ultimate work was.
It has always been a good year for Phamous People since their emergence and now they continue to be one of the most sought after prolific video directors (he and his junior brother by name, GYO) in Africa not even Ghana.
Ogee also known as George Gyimah, son of Charles Allen Gyimah (Founder of Video City Fame) directed not less than 13 videos last year, including highly-rotated video clips of artistes like Buk Bak (Gonja Barracks), Mad Fish (Yahooya), Obour (Minwu Biom), Ohemaa Mercy (Se Abotre), Okomfo Kwaadee (Ye Ko Mmaa Pe) TH 4 Kwages (I'm Aware), Anita Obeng (Mapem), Monarch?s Praise (Baahe Oshida), Pastor Joe Beecham (Ao Yesu), Pastor Clement (If I Ask), Nana Ama Amponsah (Obeye), O. J. (Koko Ara Na Koso), Nii Okai (None Compares, Moko Be & Wana Na?), Echoes Of Calvary (Nyame Ye & Okasa), Pastor Emmanuel Baah (Nkwa Wo Wura), Elijah Saforo (The Name Jesus), Daugthers of Glorious Jesus (Bebre Be), Daugthers of Glorious Jesus (Ntaban), Daugthers of Glorious Jesus (Yesu Mo), Genevieve Nnaji (No More) and XO (Your Love) and is directing more new videos this year.
The year started off good for Ogee as he has had some music producers from the world seeking his works for their artistes. Thus, his trotting in some African states now.
He has also directed a bunch of video clips for Eben Entertainment in Gabon, which has artistes like Ba'Ponga, Masta Kudi, Kenneth, Cherokee and Spycke, Koba, La Fuente and K Prime of Senegal, true hip-hop artistes who have crossed the boundaries of Africa with their songs.
Aside that he has cinched deals with Kennis Music to do video clips of 2 Face?s new album and other artistes from some African countries, which we all know will be premiered on African television stations and abroad.
In the interview, he mentioned that he has plans of venturing into the film industry, which is declining. Looking forward to that.
Some great news here! Ogee will be outdooring his official site, www.phamouspeople.com. I've seen the site, and it?s AMAZING. Fully interactive flash site with abundance information and content: video clips and commercial clips, full official listing of video & commercial work, articles, and even some 'extra' rare clips of unreleased projects, not found anywhere else and Ghana Music.com will tell you more later.
You can call Ogee on 233 24 437 7200 and 233 24 464 6332 or email him at mrogee1@yahoo.com to know about his new project.
