Ever since the death of the celebrated entertainer, radio DJ and a CEO, Muftawa Abubakar Dabre, many schools of thought have come out to associate his death to several meaning and interpretations.
Whiles stories about how he died and names making rounds as to who killed him, the eminent story is told of a death threat he received from a guy who claimed Mufty was following his lady. Several attempts by the said guy to ward Mufty off his lady yielded no fruits so he decided to consult a native doctor who took away Mufty?s soul.
In the light of all these rumors and speculations, Abubakar Sadiq, popular known as D? Flex, an up and coming musician and the kid brother of Mufty, has come out to plead with the public to leave the soul of his departed brother and manager alone.
?I think Mufty?s soul would be crying by now if he stands afar and watch what is going on. My brother died a natural death and the public should take it as such. From the family?s side we know he died a natural death and this must be understood by all. Mufty lived an exemplary life and this should not be part of his reward? D? Flex said in a said tone.
Mufty who was the CEO of D Squared Records had in his camp Ofori Amponsah, Kofi B, Kofi Nti, D Flex, among other up and coming artistes and he did everything possible to ensure that he made a name for himself in any field of entertainment that he found himself. Many were those who doubted his competence to manage big guns like Ofori and the rest but he proved beyond all reasonable doubt that he was still the man for the job. He was able to help Ofori sweep most of the top awards at the Ghana Music Awards in 2006 and 2007 and he had a TV program called TANKAS which was in its completion stages and ready to hit our TV screens.
D? Flex who was waiting for Mufty to arrive from Kumasi to start shooting the music videos of his latest maiden album was shocked to the bone when he heard of his brother?s death.
?When he was leaving for Kumasi he gave me enough money and told me to eat, sleep and dream about my music videos and how we can promote my new album. We?d made all the necessary arrangement for the videos and he was to return, settle the people and we could begin shooting but God had other plans. He called me on Tuesday and asked me of everything was okay and I told him yes. He reassured me that he would still hold on to the promise, but death had the last laugh on Thursday morning?.
Commenting on his future considering the state in which he found himself, D Flex said his future is not too bleak as it appears that Ofori Amponsah is ready to step into Mufty?s shoes and run the operations of the company. This means all planned programs would be carried out and the aims of the company would still be alive and kicking.
D Flex who doubles as a member of KK Fosu?s D-Camp has 13 tracks on his CD and 10 tracks on cassette. On his album he worked with Samini, Bright, formerly of Bukbak, KK Fosu, Kofi B and Kwabena Kwabena.
