Leonie Getting Involved In Music

Sun, 7 Mar 2004 Source: ghanamusic.com

Leonie Lynn is one of the few young gems whose profound knowledge in the art of communication has encouraged her to rub shoulders with men, writes Charles Amuah.

Lynn, a mass communication and international relations student at the Africa institute of Journalism and Communication and also aspiring music and entertainment critic has been introduced to radio by Seth Karikari alias Koo Fori, a well known radio and TV presenter.

Lately, Lynn has demonstrated a profound understanding of the music industry and this has helped to open doors.

She is currently managing a rising music star whose fortunes seem to be intertwined with hers.

It is a challenging task at a time when the music industry is beset with many artistes struggling to make it.

With mustered courage and confidence, Leonie should however be equal to the task which rests on the shoulders of her artistic Kofi Nti, a hiplife and highlife prodigy who has burst onto the music scene.

?I know there was a potential star lurking behind a dark screen which simply had to be rolled up and let through,? she commended almost philosophically in an interview.

She has learnt a lot from her mother, Gina and values the qualities and attitudes of ladies like Nana Oye Lithur and Joyce Aryee.

One person whose contact and relationship she has nurtured and valued is Kofi Okyere Darko who she calls ?General Oyee?

Others like Karim of Megastar who is described as one of the Ghana?s finest personalities in the music industry is her mentor and a source of inspiration and encouragement.
