Reggae star Luciano and R&B Songster John Legend showed why most of their audiences across the world would not stop craving for their performances.

Last Sunday at the Independence Square in Accra, the two sent the city rocking. They unleashed brilliant performances in separate renditions to their numerous fans in Ghana.

Their performances were part of a concert dubbed “Souls of Africa Concert”, meant to raise funds to assist flood victims in the three northern regions of Ghana.

Luciano’s performance, the first ever in Ghana, won the hearts of most of his brethren at the show. He demonstrated to the crowd his stagecraft and the fact that he is truly an icon and a force to reckon with in the global brotherhood of Rastafari.

Most of his songs were devotional, religious and inspirational as well; it heals, as the Rastafarians would put it. This was evident in the rsponse his songs elicited from the audience, who sang and danced along ecstatically as if they had rehearsed before the show.

John Legend, the five times Grammy award winner and his 25-member band got the crowd especially the ladies screaming.

Most of the conscious Rastafarians were not left out.

Though Legend’s music was not the kind they enjoyed, they nodded and shook their rastas in appreciation of the good tunes.

The performances were greeted with loud cheers and clapping from the audience. The star dropped songs from some of his hit albums. One of the unique features of his rendition was the power and quality sound of his voice.

The marathon concert which started at 1pm on Sunday instead of Saturday due to a heavy downpour featured selected hiplife stars such as Obrafuor, Reggie Rockstone, Tinny, Slim Busterr, as well as Wulomei, King Ayisoba, Mac Tontoh of Osibisa and many others.
