The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and the Coalition of Concern Copyright Advocates (COCCA), have agreed to come together to find solutions to the problems facing the music industry in Ghana.

The agreement was reached at a meeting of the two bodies in Accra on Monday. The two bodies agreed that division among musicians had seriously affected the performance of their members and the music industry in the country.

They noted that piracy was one of the biggest problems facing the industry and urged stakeholders to come together to wage a war against the practice, which was having an adverse effect on the industry and musicians.

Present at the meeting were the President of MUSIGA, Alhaji Sidiku Buari, the First Vice President, Diana Akiwumi, Second Vice President, Ednam Ansah, Prince Osei Kofi, Welfare Officer and C K Morrison, Assistant Welfare Officer.

Other members of MUSIGA present were K. K. Yeboah, Nana Kwame Ampadu, Alhaji K Frimpong, Chezy Wailer and Thomas Frimpong. Carlos Sekyi, Kojo Aquai, Amanzeba Nat Brew and Stan Plange represented COCCA.

Also present was Professor Amoaku, former Executive Director of the National Theatre.
