The Musicians Union of Ghana(MUSIGA) and the British Musicians Union (BMU) have signed a twinning agreement to create specific frame of bilateral relationships between their two FIM member unions.

The signing came on at the 20th International Federation of Musicians(FIM) Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina hosted by the Sociedad Argentina de Musicos(SADEM) from 3-5 October, 2012.

With the Twinning Agreement, musicians in Ghana and the United Kingdom will benefit from exchange of direct and regular information, training activities on unionism and vocational practices (legal and technical), reciprocal visits, seminars and various cultural exchanges including concerts and participation in festivals.

The twins will also share assistance in seeking institutional or funding partners for the implementation of programs of development and sensitization that can impact on the professional lives of musicians working in the two countries.

The twinning was proposed by the Musicians Union of Ghana during a visit of its president Bice Osei Kuffour(Obour) to the British Musicians Union earlier this year.

Danny Longstaff, the Chairman of the BMU signed on behalf of UK and the President of Musiga for Ghana.
