Tema (Greater Accra), 25 Feb ?99?Two lady cashiers, Diana Boa Essilfie and Matilda Dabrah of Gold Fish Ghana Limited, who allegedly stole 13.1 million cedis belonging to their Monday appeared before the Tema Circuit tribunal for stealing. They pleaded not guilty and were granted 12 million cedis bail each to re-appear on March nine. Mr Michael Yirenkyi, assistant superintendent of Police, told the tribunal chaired by Mr R. C. Azumah, that the two accused persons are responsible for receiving cash sales from their company's customers and depositing them at the bank. He said on January six, last year, they received a total of 117 million cedis but instead, they paid in 103.9 million cedis, leaving a shortage of 13.1 million cedis. The prosecution said the cash books and invoices of the books of the company handled by the accused persons showed that collections from customers on January six, totalled 117 million cedis. When they were challenged, they could not account for the shortage in the bank's statement, the prosecution added.
