Mensa is one a young and dynamic musician who is crazy and very passionate about his music life. Mensa has starred as a guest appearance for a couple of local artistes like Reggie Rockstone, VIP, among others.

The passionate artiste is now coming with an independent album on his new record label. The young artiste says he?s being an independent artiste as independent as Ghana wants to be (laughs).

He goes on to talk about the growth and future of the Ghanaians music ?I?d say we?re doomed, looking at the direction really not much is happening but I believe just like any other music, hip life is at a standstill?.

After doing his thing on a couple of shows in U.K. and Germany, Mensa held a mini launch show some few months ago and he says ?it was not really a launch but more of an album listening; I just wanted my fans to feel it first?. It took him almost seven months to record the 17 track album.

He says each has its own purpose and each song is a potential hit. ?There?s one particular song ?Lauryn? and I chose to give it this title because at the time of recording this track I had a friend called Lauryn who was calling me back to back and since the song is all about relationships I decided to give it that title and trust me you should listen to that.?

His views about Hip-hop music in Ghana are quite puzzling. He says ?I think that what you say should be real because most America Hip-hop artistes live what they say in their music and this is not represented in our songs?

?A lot of artistes coming out with hip-hop albums over here are perfect clones e.g. a bunch of mc?s sounding like Jay-z (that?s fake)?. He stresses on portraying African culture in the Ghanaian Hip- hop music. ?The music should portray what we see and know in Africa. For instance 70% of Ghanaians are poor. As a matter of fact the music should highlight these problems that we face daily.
