Music Music First Anniversary Bash

Wed, 30 Jun 2004 Source: ghanamusic.com

Stacy of Music Music with TV3 Management At about 5:00 o?clock in the evening people were already there and some were now trooping to the Aviation Social Centre for one of the biggest shows in the second quarter of the year which was Music Music's 1st Anniversary Bash. Patrons of the show were all early in coming and the artistes were also on time at the outdoor venue of Aviation Social Centre. Bola Ray and Stacy, the main presenters were also ready to go on stage as Paa Kwesi had to make sure everything was in order before they go live on air.

Before the show kicked off there were some minor performances to ginger the audience for the real show by some foreign artistes doing some accapella rap in English. Asuafoo came next and really got the people into the music mood for the show with their Sugar Daddy track.

The show really kicked off with gospel performances from Akosua Agyepong singing songs from her gospel album. She was deep into her tracks as she exquisitely sang her songs to the audience. Victoria Sarfo followed up and then the young gospel musician of the moment Kwaku Gyasi climbed up stage next.

Ghana Music.Com had a chance of going to where the musicians were camped and had a chit chat with some of them before they performed on staged. We had the chance of talking to some musicians like Bandana, Obour, Mad Fish, Nkasei, Asuafoo and many more. ?The audience out should just 'chock' (wait patiently) because I?m coming out there to shake the stage with my 'Moko Hoo' song? were the words of Bandana when Ghana Music.Com asked him what the crowd out there should expect.

As the show was going on TV presenters were mingling with the audience and artistes. Radio presenters like Jimmy of Joy FM, Odeefuo of Vibe FM were also seen in the gym where the artistes were camped talking to them (artistes).

Asuafoo, products of Lisarf Music came back again and really rapped their 'Sugar Daddy' track and when Shy of Nkasei came on stage to rap his verse dressed in a football attire, the crowd couldn?t help but dance with him.

There was rhythmic movement amidst the dressed-up and excited crowd which went ape when Mad Fish and his dancers came on stage with his '(Yahooya) Max Wone Me Baby' remix song.

Iso Paelay of Hitz Video fame was on stage to introduce Ghana?s most entertaining presenters Koo Fori and Papa Sly. Koo Fori who came on stage first did some break dance from Slim Busterr?s ?Marsherita? before they dished out a few jokes to the audience who were already happy to see them.

Obuor came on stage with an ?all white costume? saying he?s no more dying (Menwu Biom). His African dancers danced well to the 'Menwu Biom' track before asking the audience what they wanted and they shouted the hit track ?Konkontibaa? which is now being played on every radio station in Ghana.

Buk Bak showcased a good account of themselves when they came up next singing two songs from their new album itled 'Gold Coast'. The crowd was going up and down on their feet, moving merrily to the warm, pulsing tones of ?Gonja Barracks? and ?Helepu?.

After Bright and Ronny?s performance, there were sudden overwhelmed screams by young guys and girls, due to the fact that the group by name 4x4, another branch of Buk Bak were singing their new song ?Kpekpele (enemy of progress)? from the 'Execution diary'.

The most beautiful thing about the event was when a Music Music anniversary cake was brought on stage to be cut by the whole Music Music crew - Stacy, Bola Ray, Iso Paelay, Willy, Paa Kwesi and more. T-Shirts and baseball caps were thrown into the crowd to say thanks for patronising their programme for a whole year.

This is just the beginning of what Music Music has for Ghanaian music lovers and from now on they will be moving to any location every month to stage Music Music shows. Social Aviation was their first journey thus watch out because Music Music could be coming to your area very soon.
