Mzbel’s name pops up in petition to IGP

A plaintiff in a car stealing case at the Kaneshie Court at Accra Workers College, Pastor Godfred Aidoo has been receiving anonymous phone calls threatening him to chose between his life and his car that was stolen.

According to the plaintiff in a petition to the Inspector General of Police, dated 25th December 2006, two strong youngmen, Moses Atiso and one Boy Sulley snatched his car, a taxi with registration number GT 8693N from him at Paa Willie Junction, located at Russia, a suburb of Accra.

Upon report by the plaintiff to the Odorkor Police, one Maxwel Agyei Marfo was arrested by the Police as the one who had sent the stolen car to mechanics for repairs, (bodyworks) and he subsequently led the police to arrest Atiso leaving Boy Suley on the run.

Ghana’s ace female musical icon, Nana Akua, a.k.a Mzbel, according to the petition, negotiated with the police to bail the suspect, Moses Atiso on the basis that he was her aunty’s son, and promised to repair the stolen car and pay Pastor Aidoo his three months sales.

“The Commander told us that the case will go back to court but they will change the charges and give me the date. There I told them that I have lost hope, trust, interest and confidence in the Kaneshie court so they should change the court for me because one of the suspects (Moses Atiso) went to the shop where my car is in early July 2007 and said his lawyer and investigator had gone behind me to see the judge so my case could be there 70 years and there will not be any hearing”, Pastor Aidoo alleged in his petition.

He continued: “as though a prophecy has come true since the time these suspects were given bail, they have not been coming to the police station or court, meanwhile the investigator know their house”.

Pastor Aidoo further alleged in the petition that “my first statement written by myself on 28th December, 2006 got missing including my original car papers and the whole docket, in the care of the investigator, one CID Leticia, as soon as two Policemen came to see her, from James Town Police Station, and the Crime Officer called and ordered them to produce the suspects within three hours on 27th March, 2007”, which they did.

Vulnerable Pastor Aidoo has been living under fear because of the constant phone calls he receives from anonymous voices threatening him to choose between his life and the stolen-but found car.

He told this reporter in an interview that his life was in danger because he did not know when the unexpected would happen since the suspected robbers were at large and were not appearing at the court or the police station.

Meanwhile, when this reporter caught up with the female hiplife artiste to seek her reaction on phone yesterday, she confessed that she bailed Moses Atiso at the Odorkor Police Station and also confirmed that she knew him.

He, however, hanged up on this reporter with the excuse that she did not know him interspacing her talks with questions like: “have you been to the police station why are you asking me all these”?

The ace musician later called this reporter and stated that she had gone to the Police Station to help because she knew some people there, and so went there when she heard of the news that Atiso was arrested, to give some money.

She however denied bailing Atiso saying “I did not bail anybody, I went there to help and it was the mother who bailed him”.
