Accra, (Greater Accra) 16 Oct. '98 Dr Asare Kyeremanteng, deputy training manager of Enterprise Support Services for Africa (ESSA), has underscored the importance of financial information in management decision making. He said such information is for all managers. He said financial statements and other financial information pertinent to the successful operation of businesses should not be the preserve of accountants.
Rather, they should be regarded as tools for decision-making by all managers irrespective of their roles.
Speaking at the end of a five-day training programme on "finance for non-finance managers" for 22 people drawn from small and medium-scale enterprises across the country, he said the objective of the programme was to help participants to understand the rudiments of finance. The course content included management accounting, financial accounting, internal auditing and taxation. GRi
