Nima?s Fruit Of Inspiration (FOI)

Mon, 28 Jun 2004 Source: ghanamusic.com

Lil? Kryz & Double Eye ?We are here to inspire and let people know that no matter where you come from you can make it big in life.? ?We?re are the fruit and when music lovers eat it their brains will be broaden about what is good and bad about the society.? These were the rich words of Lil? Kryz and Double Eye when Ghana Music.Com asked them what FOI is all about.

These young dudes are representing ?the Nima town to the fullest?. They are currently recording their debut album called ?Danger? at Ashanti International.

Ghana Music.Com asked them the meaning behind their upcoming album titled ?Danger?. We see indecent dressing from girls, indiscipline from the citizens and bad vices in the society as dangerous to the citizens of Ghana. So we are coming out with an album to educate and enlighten people about these dangerous things, so thus the album title ?Danger? said Double Eye.

Lil Kryz has been on the hiplife scene for some time now and featured on some hit tracks with Ex-Doe, Nkasei, Shaolin Monfunk, Friction (formerly of VIP) and De-Rankies. Lil Kryz who said he started as a hardcore English rapper 'spitting' (rapping) English tracks so people never knew much about him.

?I was born to do music because I've loved music since childhood and have been doing copyrights of some rappers like Mobb Deep, Nas and few other rappers. Lil Kryz goes by the name Abdul Hamid Mohammed and saw first light on the 19th November to Asika and Ayisha Mohammed. He?s got 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He finds time for reading historical and Islamic books, listening to hiphop and reggae music. Lil Kryz says the ?Lil? attached to his stage name will be limited for sometime, as he grows it might change or the 'Lil' will be removed. Lil Kryz does the English and Hausa verses.

The other great young rapper known as Double Eye also known as Michael Yeboah, was born to Francis Yeboah and Diana Yeboah, and is also the third born of his parents. Double Eye who is a JSS graduate had his elementary and JSS at Victoria Primary and JSS. His inspirers are LL Cool J and the ?thug gangsta? Tupac.

Ghana Music.Com asked Double Eye how he started his journey into the hiplife world? ?I started way back before Reggie?s first album came out and started going to shows like Kiddafest and school shows.? I also started with a group called SO?SO, made up of me, Alhaji Flesh, Mob Deep, Guy and Sammy Sam. A guy named Roger wanted to produce us but he is now in UK, so his dream of coming out was blackened.

After the producer traveled the SO?SO group broke up, another guy called Richie Rich came to his aid of sponsoring him record an album but he made a big mistake by not signing an agreement with him. After he had recorded four songs, Rich Richie told him to come back later to record the other tracks and all he could hear was that Richie had vanished to UK with his tracks. He never gave up and featured on some tracks of Sly Collins, 2sure, and Friction.

Now the question you?re all waiting for is how they met. They knew their lyrics on the mic was 'tight' and they could combine their minds together, and bring something unique from Nima to the Ghanaian music industry. For them, their hope is bringing peace from Nima to Ghanaians and let people know that Nima residents are loving people to live with. He does the Twi verses but also knows the Hausa language very well since he was born and bred in Maamobi.

Their album will have a lot of featuring from Promzy of VIP, 'Crowd Shaker' Tinny, Lazzy of VIP and other surprise artistes. And guess what, this album is handled by Boggie Down Nima Record Label (BDN) been handled by Hashim (in the New York, Bronx) and Promzy of VIP. They are also the first artistes coming out of BDN. The album will have blazing tracks like ?Danger?, ?Obin Fre Nu Mami?, ?Mun Sorin Sa?, ?Mmaa Yi Hu Wose? and more.

Lil Kryz says hiplife is growing but the known musicians should try and support the upcoming ones. They should also try and give because the hiplife game is hard and people should not be scared about investing in the music industry.

"People who know Lil Kryz from his features should expect something good from FOI?s upcoming album and I could be reached on mobile at 233 27 74761172 or email at lilkryz@hotmail.com" were his last words.

Double Eye also had this to say as his final message, ?he who knows me knows that I am bringing something big from FOI and those who don?t know me will know me when am out?. Holla me on 233 27 7727228 and bullaala@yahoo.co.uk.

So surfers is up to you to judge them since you have heard the likes of VIP, DeRankies, Lyrical 419, Addis Ababa, Friction and more from Nima.
