What was billed months ago to become the biggest music event to be hosted by the La Pleasure Beach this year, appears to be racing towards its billing.

The Nokia Republic Day Beach fiesta slated for Monday July 3, has been designed as a mix of music, sports, beautiful people, fashion and general entertainment activities that promise to be one huge fun.

The fiesta is put together by Nokia Mobile Phones and Classic Cellular Limited, accredited agents of Nokia in Ghana in conjunction with Enaot Cellular operators of a Level 3 Service and competency centre in Ghana and Joy 99.7FM.

On stage is expected to be a selection of the finest range of artistes who are topping the Ghana hiplife scene today.

They include the veteran Obrafuor who was off the scene for about three years and just returned a couple of months ago to reclaim his place with a justifiably titled album, ?Heavy?.

Then there is the award-winning Kwabena Kwabena still running on the steam of his chart-buster ?Aso?, and also Wutah, reckoned as the newcommers with the best all-round album.

Praye is scheduled to ring out ?I And My Shoddy? and put out a display of their wonderful stagecraft while Kwao Kesse is expected to do what he is known to do best - taunting the ladies with his messages.

Also in attendance will be a special performance from Danish music group Collinswoode and the Gang.

The event which is being produced by Blaq Kapricorn will see the Grandpapa of Hiplife Reggie Rockstone as compere with the able assistance of one of Ghana?s finest, Sammi B.

According Classic Cellular the event is being organised as a public spirited one aimed at giving back to society and proceeds from the event will go to the La Pleasure Beach towards improving the quality of Ghana?s largest and most popular beach resort.

Nokia will also be launching the latest in mobile music technology ? the N91 and the N3250 which have amazing music capabilities never before envisaged of a music phone.

Edwin Addo, GM, Sales and Marketing of Classic Cellular told Showbiz that Nokia plans to organise such events on a regular basis and enjoined all revellers to join the fun at the La Pleasure Beach on Monday.

Special side events have been lined up including beach volleyball, free kick challenge, arm wrestling, Frisbee bowling, beach basketball and badminton.

The organisers have promised lovely prizes of Nokia souvenirs for the first five hundred revellers to enter the beach.
