Outspoken Ghanaian Musician, Anamon K Essien has called on the President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kuffour popularly, known as Obour to resign.
Speaking in an interview with DJ Murphy Lee on Storm Fm’s Entertainment Xtra, Anamon said Obour’s attention and focus has been in the capital city alone…and also he do not think about the well-being and progress of budding musicians in the country.
According to him, Obuor has failed Ghanaians and the music industry due to the monopoly system during the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (V.G.M.A) nominations.
Anamon bemoaned that the MUSIGA President has kept mute for the organizers of VGMA to look down on some hard working artists who do not ply their trade in the capital city of Ghana.
He called on these artists who have been neglected to start organizing their awards in their respective regions…because MUSIGA and organizers of VGMA has eliminated them from their plans.
“The nominations for Ghana Music Awards are mostly based on Accra and Tema artists alone. That means...the efforts of other artists are not recognized…and that’s in a very bad taste. They don’t respect the hardworking artists in other parts of the country,” he lamented.
He added that the MUSIGA President and the music industry lack vicissitude in terms of the Ghana music awards nomination.
Going further, the ‘Gargantuan Fraud’ hit maker said, the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards should change the name to Accra Music Awards due to their monopoly system.
"We recently witness Obama City Awards in Cape Coast... So if the V.G.M.A awards is up to standard or organize well…and all Ghanaian artists nationwide are being recognized, will they’ve organized Obama City Awards,” he queried.
"Now... on behalf of Ghana musicians and every underground artist... I hereby fight against what is going on... I have been a silence observer for 5years, and this is ridiculous".
Anamon is yet to launch a peaceful campaign tour in Ghana...towards the 2016 elections...as his next project.
