Christmas eve has always been exciting for many in Ghana as they keep vigil to commemorate the birth of Christ.
It’s also one of the peak seasons for event organisers and those who love to party. December 24, this year would be an unusual day in the history of Ghanaian showbiz as Kojo Antwi and Ofori Amponsah lock horns to pull more fans to their shows.
Ofori Amponsah’s management team, with the help of popular event organisers, Charterhouse, last week launched “Ghana Rocks with Ofori Amponsah and Friends’, which would be an annual affair.
This means Ofori Amponsah would from now on share the December 24 ‘market’ with the maestro, Kojo Antwi.
Kojo Antwi, ‘the musicman’ is known for his annual December 24 musical concert, where most of his fans turn up to have a feel of him on stage.
Sources say Kojo Antwi’s event would come off at the Accra International Conference Centre while Ofori Amponsah’s takes place at the National Theatre.
Ghana is definitely gearing up for the ‘clash of the titans’ on December 24, 2007.
Ofori’s team has embarked on serious publicity in the media on “Ghana Rocks with Ofori Amponsah and Friends’, partly because he’s relatively new in the December 24 game.
Not much has been heard from Kojo Antwi’s management team, leaving observers in doubt as to whether his event would really come off this year.
