A 75-year-old farmer, Mallam Ali Abudu, has been enskinned chief of Bisenaa in the East Mamprusi district under the skin name Bisenaa Malibogu.

He succeeds Chief Bisenaa Yahaya Somo who died eight months ago after ruling for 36 years.

Swearing the oath of allegiance to the Nayiri, paramount chief of Mamprugu, Naa Gamni Abdulai Mahamadu the second at Nalerigu, Bisenaa Malibogu promised to promote unity among the people so that together they could bring progress to the area.

He said he will encourage the formation of co-operative societies to enable members to get access to loans from the government for farming.

The Nayiri advised the new chief to work closely with the chief of Walewale, chief Durana, to ensure peace and stability in Walewale and the entire Mamprugu.
