One of Ghana’s top rappers, Opanka, has announced his debut album after hitting the limelight several years ago. His album is titled “Akwaaba” – an Akan word which means “Welcome”.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Pulse.com.gh, Opanka said he named that “Akwaaba” because it’s his debut.
“It’s titled ‘Akwaaba’ because this is my debut album after my mixtape. When I hit the limelight, I was doing more freestyles and been under different management. But now that I am independent and coming out with my own album, it will signify my comeback,” Opanka told Pulse.com.gh.
“Akwaaba” has 15 tracks plus 2 bonuses on the album. “Initially, I wanted the track list to be 20 but later realized that they were too many so I took 4 out and added two bonuses,” Opanka said.
The album features gospel star Gifty Osei, Hiplife group 4x4, missing Castro, Highlife legend Ben Brako, singer KK Fosu, rapper Flowking Stone, Okyeame Kwame, Edem, and other top stars.
The producers working on the album include Kaywa, Ephraim, Masta Garzy, King of Accra, Seshie, Jerry Beats, among others.
“Akwaaba” consists of some of his old and yet-to-be released singles. Opanka said he will announce the launch date very soon.
