The roof of the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) could have come down last Friday when the second edition of the MOGO concert came off.

This was simply because performance after performance was so spectacular, the audience could not help but scream, sing along or dance in the aisles in appreciation of the various acts that were exhibited.

Right from the commencement of the show through the very end, an overwhelming majority of the audience that had filled the auditorium cheered and greeted each performance with rapturous applause each time they finished with their performance amidst shout of joy.

It was quite difficult to say which of the artistes put up he best of performance but I will say the group Osibisa really rock the building.

As at 6:00 pm the gate was already packed with patrons getting ready to purchase their ticket to enter the auditorium. And at exactly 8:00pm the MC'S for the programme Nii Amah Dagadu and Jessica both dressed in African print have mounted the stage to welcome patrons to the concert.

The concert geared straight into action with Agya Koo Nimo Ghana's foremost exponent of acoustic guitar highlife and folk music who took patrons through great indigenous highlife music like yare yeya, Tete Wobi Ka, Osabarima and the favorite of the fans Naa Densua which put most of the elderly in a reminiscent mood.

The two-time ACRAG award winner, Thomas Frimpong was really at it best as he thrilled fans with danceable tunes like Ayeyi, odo pa and odoyewoa na me dono to the admiration of his teeming fans.

After brilliant individual performances, Paapa Yankson and Paulina Oduro put up a splendid duet performance of the song Tra mentsen which sent ripples of love through the audience. The 'Akoo ti brofo' man George Darko was not left out as he showed that he is indeed the king of burger highlife with hit songs like odo colour and money palaver.

At this point in time the audience who have really enjoyed themselves, dancing to almost all the songs dish out to them by the various artist could not wait to welcome the world acclaimed group Osibisa. The MC'S ask the patrons whether they are tired or they are ready to receive Osibisa? The respond was thunderous.

Osibisa mounted the stage at exactly 11:48pm, and the performance was great to watch. They started with songs like 'the don' and moved on to do the warrior. At this point the fans could not hold themselves together again as they dance and sing along with the band. The group comprising of Sol Amarfio on drums, Bessa Simon on keyboard, Alfred Bannerman on acoustic guitar, Mac Tonto on trumpet, Osei Kwame on bass guitar, Emmanuel Rentos as lead keyboardist, Greg Brown also on acoustic guitar and the leader of the group Teddy Osei on flute put up a great performance which according to them is a performance specially put together only for MOGO.

Osibisa proved to be the deal of the night. It was simply impossible for the audience to sit as popular hits like fire, patapa, sunshine day, and the all-time hit coffee song was performed. After almost one hour on stage, the crowd was still hungry for more.

This year event was sponsored by Coca-Cola, Ghana International Airlines, Ghana Telecom, Johnnie walker- red label, Dannex producers of pengo tablets, World O'Dream, Danny D?cor and powered by Citi fm 97.3
