Most people who have listened to his debut track ‘Whine Pon Me’ have said it will compete for the Vodafon Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) New Artiste category next season; and it is for this and other reasons that new artiste, Phinga is worth writing home about.
Phinga, known in real life as Jonathan Segbefia Jnr, is causing a stir in music circles and his debut is already enjoying massive airplay.
“Although I have a few other tracks, Whine Pon Me is my official debut and forms part of my upcoming album, Genesis. We are also working in the video and I am sure when it is complete, I would be adding something good to our rising music industry.
“I am here to stay, I am here to grow, I am here to make it, I am here for life so my fans and music lovers should get ready to enjoy good music. I would be relying on their support, hard work and God’s grace,” Phinga explained.
Currently, Phinga is on the record label of Global One Media Entertainment and says he completed Chemu Secondary School in Tema.
“My CD making the rounds now is a promo one with just two songs. It also has the instrumentals and the lyrics of both songs, ‘whine Pon Me’ and ‘Let Me Touch Your Body’. In fact, the second track was just a free style but it came out well at the end of the day,” Phinga explained.
He said ‘Whine Pon Me’ is more of an erotic love song for an adult audience.
When asked what his fans should look out for, this was the response Phinga gave: “Well, every musician has something unique to offer. I am sure I also have mine and it has to do with my energy on stage. I would not reduce this energy but rather improve on it so Ghanaians would be interested in coming to watch my shows to get energized, so help me God.”
