Pastor R. Frank Twum Ansah’s dream of joining the gospel train has come true with the release of his maiden album Joy in the Lord.

The album was put together with the active collaboration of the Pastor’s church, the Covenant Word International Ministry choir in which the Pastor has been the praise and worship leader since 1996.

Although he is new in the industry, Pastor Ansah by the quality of his debut album promises to be a force to reckon with.

The quality of instrumentation in the album is very high as it employs keyboard, wind instrumentation such as trumpets, tambourines and others.

The guitars are conspicuously used and most interesting is the extensive use of the percussion which gives songs like Mighty Power and Mawuloloto both done in the jama vein some genuine Africaness.

Mighty Power is a praise song which takes off with the Keyboard and drums rendition but as the track progresses the different kinds of percussions come into play making the fast tempo song very danceable.

Another appealing aspect of this song is the vocal backing given to the lead vocals of the pastor and the fact that the song changes its language from English to Adangbe and then Twi.

Mawuloloto is another fast-paced danceable song on the album. It is done in ewe and employs the use of drums. The bass guitar provides a move beat which drive the song to its conclusion.

Mawuloloto is a popular song very well known in the country but the use of different kinds of instrumentation gives it a new dressing . This version of the song is very interesting and is likely to please many gospel music lovers.

Jesus Died is mid-tempo heavily loaded with guitar and trumpet renditions at the beginning, the vocal backing provided by the Pastor’s church choir makes the song come out well as the predominant treble and alto parts of the choir blend with the Pastor baritone lead vocals.

Joy is Keyboard driven and once again the Pastor’s baritone vocal provides the correct tone for that piece.
Though mid tempo the song is very danceable because the vocal parts and comes out well.

Other songs on the album are Great Change, Nhyira, Under, Bless the Lord and Wofie, all of which are well treated musically. The album is an all round success.

Pastor Ansah started singing at a tender age and progressed into the choir of his church, the Covenant Word International Ministry, Holland as a praise and worship leader.

According to him, the lyrics of the songs on the album are all written by and are based on his understanding of what God and man’s relationship should be.

It is his cherished wish that the album help in winning many souls for Christ and also strengthen the faith of the devout Christian in the Lord.

Pastor R. Frank Twum Ansah had his Secondary education at Suhum and continued at KATECO in Accra. He is currently pastoring at the Covenant Word International Ministry in England.
