Otubea Kwansa, after some attempts, has finally released her maiden album titled 'Nkunyimdzifo', an eight-track album designed to inspire, guide and guard Christians through this tortuous life.

Takoradi-based Otubea Kwansa has come a long way from her school days at Aburi girls Secondary school, where she had wanted to come out with an album but could not do so because of her studies.

Singing for so long has given Otubea confidence and experience, which she uses to good effect to her maiden album. One other thing she has, and which comes clearly, is the depth of her lyrics, touches her listeners in a very positive way.

The title 'Nkunyimdzifo' opens the collection comes with a round sound provided by such experience instrumentalists as Ebenezer Baidoo, Kuuku Asamoah, Kofi Dua-Anto, Maxwell Dziku, Pastor Antwi Bosiako and Ekow Mensah.

Otubea's rich voice complements the instrumentation especially when joined by the backing vocal, which, I suspect, is also that of Otubea.

'Ankonam Nyame', a mid-tempo presentation, also brings out the best in Otubea's beautiful voice, which, no doubt, exudes a lot of confidence.

'Don bi rebo' is my favourite. One cannot help falling in love with this song and its style of presentation. sung in the vernacular, the instrumentation and the presentation does not sound Ghanaian, yet it is very sophisticated and appears very original.

Other beautiful songs on the album include 'Dzin bi woho', 'Woakwan', 'Hen egya', 'Aseda' and 'Yi no aye'.

All the songs were written, composed and arranged by Kuuku Asamoah and Otubea Kwansa and produced by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Kwansa of Kwansa Auto limited.

Born 29 years ago, Otubea attended service Primary / Ridge international schools, both in Takoradi. She continued at Aburi Girls secondary and then the University of Cape Coast.
