Press Release: Ghana Music Awards UK

Committee Members and Members of the Ghana Music Awards UK event held an official press conference today in London in response to the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) article titled "There is no organisation known as Ghana Music Awards UK".

Mr Eric McKaiser, CEO and Founder of Ghana Music Awards Ltd gave an official statement in response to MUSIGA article. Mr McKaiser quotes" Ghana Music Awards is a UK registered company and official proof of this can be found on the Companies House website; our company registration number is 04865401. Our company has been in existence for over two years and we work very closely with the other experts outside of our committee ensuring that we deliver high standards for our organisation"

MUSIGA is trying to sabotage the Ghana Music Awards UK event which is due to take place on the 24th September 2005 in London, why they are trying to sabotage our event is unknown, but what we do know is that our organisation is a registered company and we solely work towards establishing international recognition for Ghanaian Musicians, and I can gladly say Ghanaian Musicians are being acknowledged in the UK and Europe, and events like 'Out of Africa' which is being hosted in the UK this month confirms this." "The British Musicians Union is a 'Union for Musicians' they are not the Registrars for companies and organisations in the UK, so MUSIGA's investigation is flawed yet again."

An official petition was also launched today at the press conference in which supporters can now sign the petition - backing the Ghana Music Awards UK.

A live telephone link up with Singer/Musician Obour (who has been given reputable business through the Ghana Music Awards UK) stated "I believe that Ghana Music Awards UK, is a major event; projecting the image of Ghanaian Musicians internationally which is important for us as Musicians, as our focus is to become internationally acknowledged and recognised and the Ghana Music Awards UK portrays positive exposure abroad."
