Rascalimu Born Carlos Alidu Mumuni in Tamale, the northern part of Ghana, Rascalimu started studying music when he was 8 years old. He often gathered his younger brothers to play with instruments that they created. He also loved to sing by this age and easily picked up songs played on the radio.

His initial attempts to join bands failed because no one shared his musical vision. Discouraged, he decided to attend Tumu Secondary School in Tumu, Ghana studying English Literature, Mathematics, World History, French, Agriculture and Bible studies. Rascalimu graduated from Tumu secondary school in June, 1984 on scholarship.

Opportunities took Rascalimu to North Africa and Europe and it was during this time that he was introduced to some local musicians. Singing songs for this musicians gave Rascalimu the interest once again to pursue music full speed ahead.

With the passion still inside of him to sing, he left no stone unturned in attempting to make music his career, however, there was yet another obstacle to face No money to back his dreams.

When his academic program in Europe ended, he went back to Ghana and was still faced with the same obstacle, no one believing in his dreams and no money to support it. In 1987 he made several trips from west to North Africa through Malaysia and finally to Taipei(Taiwan) in 1989 where he then settled and worked for two years.

While in Taipei, he was introduced an Australian reggae group t he heard was playing in a club. They embraced him immediately and he became a member of the band where he served as a lead vocalist and percussionist. The band left for Thailand after their six months contract ended but Rascalimu remained in Taipei to earn some money and to gain more musical experience doing live performances. He remained in Taipei honing his musical skills for two years then decided to return to Ghana.

On his journey back to Ghana, Rascalimu stopped off in Thailand and it was there he made acquaintances with yet another reggae group (T? Bone) that was signed to Mousa/Warner Brothers(Thailand) the only reggae band in Thailand He played with this band throughout Bangkok and on the Island of Kho Samui and then moved to Pattaya where he lived and played in clubs throughout the area.

After years of writing and seeking opportunity to record, Rascalimu finally got that chance in the US in 1996 when an introduction to a producer Judah Eskender Tafari led to the recording of 9 demo songs.

His first CD ?REGGAE REVOLUTION? was released in the US in the fall of 2002.Ever since he has performed in famous clubs like the SOB?S LIONS DEN AND LA PLANTATION all in New York City. The CD was recorded at Sample Kings studio, mixed and engineered at living room studio by Sidney Mills (Steel Pulse) and mastered at Mark Dann recordings.

RASCALIMU gives thanks and praises to the almighty GOD for making this part of the dream come true and the many other blessing s bestowed upon him. His musical inspirations are synonymous with superstardom and legendry Bob Marley, Peter, Tosh Burning Spear, The Mighty Diamonds, Alfa Blonde, Lucky Dube Ishmael Isaacs and Rocky Dawuni May the good Lord bless the work of our hands and lead us in the righteous way now and forever.
