Some call him the Oseikrom President, others the Grand father or Godfather of Hiplife but in any which way you call him he qualifies for that position with not doubt. Many were those who did not understand him when he first came out with his debut album.

The trendsetter and real inventor of hiplife (that is the fusion of hip pop and hilife in the local dialect) trended on a good path that has a lot of young generation and some old musicians as well trending on now.

Weekly Fylla in an interview with Reggie Rockstone on his birthday about how he sees the hiplife industry; he said there is no industry because ?Payola? has killed it.

He also said he was not happy with the current trend hiplife is taking adding that when he came and introduced hiplife Obrafour, VIP, Akyeame, Akatakyire also came in with different flavors but currently what we are experiencing is undiluted.

?They are all following the same tradition and what we hear is one way style and most of the music sound alike?. He feels the boys should not feel shy or shun hip pop because those doing hip pop in the Diaspora are Africans and so it is ours. Reggie said; ?the Executive Producers are also not helping the musicians in the hiplife industry, they find something small for them and that is all?.

Also asked about his musical break and rumors that he has quitted he said he has not but just went underground to put some works together and will resurface some time soon. About his Mobile Boys that is Nkonyaa, Grey and Kotsoko he said; ?they are all in camp learning very hard to come out?.

Reggie added; they are the best group I have come across because people with different aspirations and different backgrounds and you trying to put them together are a funny experience?. He also promises a very good work piece afterwards and claims he did not only teach them music but also life, patience and all it entails to stay on your own.

The Godfather of Hiplife still looks young and energetic though he refused to disclose his age on his birthday which fell on the 11th of April 2007 but the grey hair in his beard tells us he is quiet grown and the name grandpa of hiplife is perfect. He is married and a proud father of two Phoebe and Ricci respectively. He currently manages his late father?s diamond business at Akwatia in the Eastern Region but still spends most of his time in the studio recording.
