For some time now the gospel music industry in the country has been considered as rough, untouching and worst of all, non-spiritual.
Some people attribute this to the dress-code and stage performances of the artistes while others say most gospel songs have too much repetition of choruses and lyrics, thus making the songs boring.
However, 24-year-old Ruth Boakye has announced her presence in the music industry to change the trend, as she is set with an intriguing album, “Nea Awurade Aye Ama Me”.
It features 10 different tracks with good rhythms, praise and worship songs.
Some of the songs are “Odombarima Jesus” and “Okokroko Nyame”.
All the songs were produced by Benenz Group, based in the United States of America and managed by Bola Ray of Joy FM.
Lyrics of the songs call on Christians and listeners to always pray to God for direction in whatever they do.
In an interview with Beatwaves Ruth said she started developing her talent when she was a chorister with the Baptist Church.
She indicated that she then had the call and enrolled at the Gloryland School of Music for two years before coming out with this first album.
All the songs, according to her, were testimonies as well as past experiences she had gone through.
The album would soon be launched in Obuasi and Accra.
She revealed that her mentor was Christiana Love. Some guests who would grace the occasion include Prophetess Barbara Donkor of Steps of Jehovah Ministry and Mr. Aboagye Antwi, founder of Charity House Chapel.
