S.A Group Jozi Hits Ghana For Music Awards

South African hip hop duo Jozi has been invited to perform at the prestigious 11th MTN Ghana Music Awards. They have also been nominated in the Best African Artist Category of the yearly awards, which are slated for April 10.

The invitation follows the duo’s announcement that they will be collaborating with international songbird Kelly Rowland. Formed in 2006, Jozi is one of the most successful hip hop groups in South Africa.

Following the release of their debut album Muthaland Crunk in 2006, Jozi were nominated in three categories at the 2007 South African Music awards (SAMA’s). 2008 saw them getting another set of nominations at the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards in London, where they were nominated for Best Urban Group and Best Urban Hip hop Group.

They went on to win the coveted Best Live Performer trophy at the 2008 MTV Base Awards.This Year, Jozi's latest album Wild life has been nominated for three SAMA’s; Best Urban Pop, Best remix for the track “Party Time” and Best Video for the track “Got to keep on going”. One half of the duo Ishmael "Ish" Morabe, has also been nominated twice in the coveted awards.
