People from all over Ghana including the legendary Bob Marley?s wife Rita Marley were eagerly waiting to see Beenie perform at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium. Enthusiastic fans of Beenie Man were waiting patiently in a line that extended around the block at the stadium.
To their surprise, the show was cancelled at the eleventh hour making many fans of Beenie Man go bananas.
When Ghana Music.Com went to the scene, we learnt that some misunderstandings arose between Ralph Casley Hayford (he hired his equipments for the use of the show) and some of the Citi FM crew which prompted the man to pack his equipments back and thus led to the cancellation of the show.
When asked what it was all about, we were told Ralph Casley Hayford got mad and packed his things because of the behaviour that some of the crew from Citi FM exhibited. According to sources, they were hostile and rude to him in his dealings with them.
Others who were getting ready for the event could not believe what had happened. Some even thought it was a rumour or a joke and as such went to the stadium and office of Citi FM to verify.
Thus at about 9:00pm, people finally got to know that the show was not coming on and as such those who bought the tickets went to the office of Citi FM for their money.
What a disappointment! Some had to travel all the way from Ashanti Region and Northern Region just to have a glimpse of Beenie Man and see him perform but that did not turn out to be so.
However, no one knows whether the show is going to be rescheduled. Let?s wait and see. Ghana Music.Com will bring you details of what happened and what will be done about it later on.
