Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Rako known widely for his unique vocal dexterity and talent has finally addressed what he terms people’s misconception about him as an artiste and “beefing” with other talented artistes.
The Rudebuoy Love hitmaker in an interview with NY DJ on Ryse N Shyne on Y102.5FM in Kumasi disclosed his intents of constructively criticizing and making known what happens in the entertainment industry are always misinterpreted by fans as beef.
“As an artiste, the only channel through which I can address issues is through music so I find it difficult when people think I’m beefing with other artistes.”
Claiming an integral role in Okyeame Kwame’s transformation as a versatile artiste, Shatta Rako explained his song which critiqued his style of rap as a one-way musician caused a change which is quite evident today, he jokingly said.
“I think Okyeame Kwame should be getting me something because he took word from one of my songs which constructively criticized his one-way style and now he can boast with one of the biggest musical shows in Ghana; “The Versatile Show”.
Off the “beef’ misconception, Shatta Rako asked music artistes in the Ashanti Region to unite and support their own since that was the new order.
“Disunity will never help anyone. Go to Kole Gono, Ashaiman, Dansoman and you will realize Shatta Wale, Samini, Stonebuoy and all the others are getting support from their respective communities…We just need to unite and make Kumasi proud because as it stands, Kumasi seems dead musically..”
Shatta Rako has therefore prayed with music fans to ascertain the contents of songs before jumping into conclusions.
Shatta Rako recently signed a joint deal with Sammy Forson’s Aspire Music and Rudebuoy Records and has since released great tracks such as “Rudebuoy Love”, “Gyal Ina Mi DP”.
