Techiman (Brong Ahafo), 23 March '99 Tano District beat Sunyani District, 4-3 on penalties in the finals of this year's Brong-Ahafo Regional Basic Schools Inter-District Under-12 soccer competition played at Techiman on Monday. The match ended scoreless at the end of the 90-minute regulation period and in the penalty shootouts, Tano banged in four goals as against three by Sunyani. The five-day competition, which featured all the 13 districts, was aimed at selecting a team to represent the region at the national under-12 soccer competition to be held in Kumasi from April 17-25. A spokesman for the Regional Physical Education Directorate of the Ghana Education Service said 28 players selected during the competition would begin camping at Sunyani from Monday, March 29.
