Joy 99.7 FM is leading a campaign in search of a cheer song for the senior national football team, the Black Stars.
The search in the form of a competition is being organized together with Adom FM, Luv FM and in conjunction with Ghana Football Association.
The General Manager of Joy FM Kenneth Ashigbey, has stated in a press statement that the Black Stars Cheer Song competition is aimed at producing a cheer song that will not only inspire the Black Stars to strive for victory in their games, but serve as a strong rallying song for supporters of the Black Stars.
?Together with Luv FM and Adom M, we expected that huge volume of airtime and advertising space that will be devoted to the campaign will lead to the production of a cheer song that will not only appeal to the sporting public but will serve as rallying song for senior national team as we continue with our quest to qualify for the first time for the Senior World Cup,? he emphasized.
The winner of the competition whose song will be popularized and performed before the Ghana-DR Congo game in October will win one thousand five hundred dollars ($1500) prize money.
Mr. Ashigbey said the money is intended to motivate and encourage many talented songwriters to join the search for a cheer song for the national team.
