TV3 Mentor 2 Finals

TV3 Mentor II grand finale came to an end with lots of great performances from all the twelve contestants and some contestants of Mentor I.

The event which took place at the National Theatre rocked to the music of Mentor II finalist Prince, Kofi, Joe and Dee who all proved that they were in a class of their own.

Singing to loud cheers that had come from near and far in their numbers to watch this delight show from their favourite contestants put in their all, especially as they knew that one of them would be crowned the winner at the end of the show.

The Judges comprising Dominic, Akosua Agyapong and ?notorious? Mark were around looking wonderful to pass a comment on a performance.

The Judges had really devoted much of their time in coming around to keep the show kicking till the very end of this entertaining reality show.

And of course, the two lovely presenters, Fiifi and Anita had also contributed a lot in making the show a glee to watch.

Additionally, the Master Mix Band managed by Sammy Helwani had done a great in assisting the contestants with contagious sounds to rehearse and come out with impressive performances.

The band had boost of quality sounds always absorbed by both live audience and viewers at home any time they had to perform with the contestants.

The show kicked off in a grand style with a some segment of documentary on some of the finalists. It was done by two of the judges, Mark and Dominic giving out their sentiments on them.

The National Theatre was full to the max as lots of people had gathered there to find out which of their favourite contestants wins the competition. The show was transmitted live for those who did not get the opportunity to purchase the tickets.

It was amazing to note that most TV channels were tuned to TV3 to watch the number one entertaining programme.

The four finalists performed four times with powerful stage performances where the first two were judged and the other two were not judged.

It all started with the evicted eight contestants who performed a song entitled ?I have a dream?. It was superb.

Contestant Kofi alias ?seeerious? set in motion with ?I have told you? by Rock Stewards. It was a nice piece which really moved the crowd.

His show received good comments from all the judges.

Followed was contestant Prince who did ?I will give everything to fall in love?. It was also a nice performance which received good comments from the judges.

The humble lion, Joe came with ?Once upon a time?. He did extremely well and received the ?check check halleluiah from Judge Akosua Agyapong to congratulate a very great performance.

Contestant Dee a.k.a dada Dee took turns to perform ?The world?s greatest by R Kelly. In spite of his great effort in performing that song, he did not meet the expectations of the Judges. He was then advised to work on his voice on the kind of songs he choose and also work on his timing.

The event continued in an excitement as Okuraseni an upcoming hip life artiste featuring OD4 performed with a mysterious dancer who really trilled the crowd with outstanding moves.

The four finalists later went for hot songs in the second round beginning with Kofi. He performed ?Gawu? which also moved the crowd by standing and singing alongside him.

Dee came with ?Djorlor?. Then Prince. They were all judged again. It was a bad night for Dee who received poor judgment for the Judges. In all they did marvelously well.

Prince and Dee in the third round performed ?This is how we do it. Although Dee received bad comments from the Judges, he was not moved and gave out his all during all his show.

Joe and Kofi also took turns to perform ?Everyday with people?. They stormed the stage as the audience could not just sit and watch them but put on their dancing shoes.

When it was announced that Samini was around to perform, the crowd screamed for him as he came on stage to perform for long.

Samini, Africa?s last man standing was something else when he set fire with some of his hit songs like ?Linda, African lady, Se obi se odo woa? and many more sensational lyrics of communicating with the crowd.

The crowd hailed him as he gave the best out of him. Andy, mentor I finalist later joined him to perform one of his new tracks.

The king of mentor I Prince featuring Noble Nketia also had the opportunity to perform.

Isaac alias show boy of mentor I was around to lift the spirits of the crowd with his hit song ?Nyame do me?.

The final round was something else as each contestants came on stage with their mentor. Kofi with his mentor Felix Bell, Prince with his mentor Josh Laryea, Joe with his OJ and Dee with his mentor Nana Quame. They all gave out wonderful stagecraft.

Many fans would have taken to the floor but lack of space for dancing made it practically impossible.

The delivery was superb and refreshing. So was the sound output. It was not from any other band than the Master Mix Band.

The crowd was standing throughout.

Despite the spectacular performances form the four finalists, only one was to be crowned the winner.

Fear gripped the finalists as well as the live audience and viewers at home as to whom win the crown.

The winner was declared as king of mentor II 2007 and it fell on Prince. He took home ?20million.

Joe took ?15million for the second position. Kofi took ?10million for the third price with DVD and TV.

Dee took ?5million, TV and DVD for the fourth position.

The finalists also received prices from Yazz, Mobile Water, Therapy massage from Holy Trinity, Packets of Tampico and tigo cell phones worth four million cedis.

All the evicted eight contestants did not go home empty handed.

The show ended up at Yegoala Night Club to celebrate the victory of Prince.
