The 1st runner up of Mentor II, Joe is in the studio already to record his debut album.
The stunning young talent broke viewers' hearts when he was voted the runner up of the 2006 season of the widely popular TV3 reality series, "Mentor"
"Joe is someone who can do a foreign song but would still contain the African elements, he is truly a vocal wonder, a tremendously gifted artiste," said Amanda, a fan we found on the streets.
Joe's extraordinary voice gives him a signature sound and distinguishes him from every singer on the horizon today.
If you were a frequent viewer of TV3 Mentor II you would know very well that Joe is more for the ladies when it comes to his songs, so ladies are you ready?
The 22-year old Joseph Nii Otoo Ankrah honed his skills singing in church, where he always brought the congregation to its feet week after weeks with his soul- stirring solo performances or with his accappella group, Kingdom Spark.
Joe's talent was nurtured at the church first, talent shows and musical productions during his school years at De Youngsters Primary JSS and Labone Secondary School.
"The church made Joe what he is today", he said.
He will be charming thousands of Ghanaians when he showcases his new single titled "Fallen" on his yet to be released album, which was released just yesterday.
The next chapter of his career is about to be unfolded as he has been on the low for sometime now. "It's time to write more songs. TV3 has given me the exposure and this is the time I have to make use of it", he added.
Joe has also taken a giant step as Limelight Entertainment?s most promising new recording artiste which has Kay B and Jay Bryan as artiste there.
Joe never struggled to gain popularity in the early stages of the live show, receiving good remarks from the judges and the audience so I don't think he would have a problem with his album.
He wants his songs that will come out, Ghana Music Awards organisers will create a category for.
He has stated in many different interviews that this album would be different from other albums and that being on Mentor II has really helped him a lot to come out.
Producer, Jam Master Jay, best known for tracks of VIP, Tic Tac, Samini and more also contributed to some tracks on the project.
He will be putting the single on air very soon to bring him more into the limelight and trust me, this cut across Africa.
