The Hiplife Song of the Year category arguably has one of the most interesting lists for this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) as artistes whose songs have earned nominations will be competing with songs they featured on.
Quamina MP whose song ‘Amanfuor Girls’ which features Medikal has been nominated. It comes face-to-face with Medikal’s ‘Omo Ada’. Both artistes were featured on Sista Afia’s ‘Weather’ which has also been nominated in that category.
‘Confam’ a song by DopeNation featuring Medikal has equally been nominated as well as Sarkodie’s ‘Ofeetso’ and Guru’s ‘Bad Energy’.
'Amanfuor Girls', 'Omo Ada' and 'Ofeetso' have also earned spots in the Most Popular Song of the Year category alongside 'Zanku' by DopeNation, 'Obiaato' by Kuami Eugene, 'Agbebolo' by Celestine Donkor, 'Things Fall Apart' by Kofi Kinaata, 'W'asem' by Diana Hamilton, 'Notin A Get Remix' by Fameye, 'Nobody' by Kwesi Arthur and KiDi's 'Mr. Badman'.
Meanwhile Sarkodie, Medikal, Quamina MP are competing for the Hiplife/Hip-hop Artiste of the Year. Other artistes nominated for this category are Kofi Mole, Kwesi Arthur, Joey B and DopeNation.
