Music they say is food for the soul and a very powerful tool that easily incite one in a state of anger to fight and destroy, or to be happy and at peace with one another.

As the entire country awaits the verdict of the Supreme Court, the multiple award winning artist and medical doctor, Knii Lante, is calling for peace no matter the verdict given by the judges on the Thursday, 29th August 2013.

Speaking to Ghlive.com, he said: “We are one people, one country with one destiny. If we all want what is best for our people, then that will begin with giving them peace.

With the words of his deep Reggae song, Rocky Road, from his love and Revolution album, he said “Though the road it looks so foggy, yet we got to find a way, there is no place here to lay our head, and though the road it feels so rocky, children of Zion hold up your heads, never lose your confidence, surrounding us, political spirits and demons, spitting false teachings and sermons, trying to make us lose our sense of purpose, but it’s time that we rise high above conflicts that divide you from I, Kwame Nkrumah's dream must live not die, unity and love be our cry…"

He said being a medical doctor, his main job was to save lives, so the last thing he will want to see is a conflict which will lead to loss of lives because of our political differences or for any other reason. He called on all musicians to join the course of calling for peace, adding their voices to unite people and bring happiness.

Knii Lante is one of the most talented artists in the country, his vocal clarity and prowess is second to none. He has won many awards and warmed many hearts with unequalled live performances with even the little opportunity given him.

His recent recording and invitation to perform at the prestigious rebel salute concert in Jamaica has made Knii Lante a strong force in the reggae industry and a perfect ambassador of Ghanaian musicians across the continent.

Before the interview whiles researching on him, I was listening to his songs to gather a couple of questions to ask him, then I realized the music genius he is. Most of his songs preach unity, peace, love and against negative vices.

At this current political season, I urge you to listen to Rocky Road by Knii Lante.
