Where are all the Artiste Managers?

Music is the people?s heart beat. That which makes the sick hearted grows strong. Every body wants it if it is good. When it comes to packaging of the song, the managers of the artistes play key roles, roles that are seldom seen by many.

The new face of Ghana music has something very uncommon. At least some music makers are trying hard to garnish their works with all the required ingredients needed to make the rich music they make linger in the hearts of all.

It is appropriate for all to note that the success of an album does not depend on the artistes alone but also on the priceless efforts of the manager who does all the ?donkey jobs?.

Georgina Bimpong is still a young woman but with a fat CV when it comes to work with musical artistes. She has worked mostly on international labels and has enjoyed immensely from the success of those she labored for.

She worked at BMG and Def Jam Records in marketing and Promotions. She has also been involved in campaign with the likes of Usher, Alicia Keys, Outkast, Cassidy, Wyclef, TLC, Busta Rhymes and many of the ?big boys? in Hip Hop.

Currently she is the Boss at KAFINA, the new management of renowned Hip Life artiste, Tic Tac and is obviously doing a great job in selling Tic Tac?s new album ?Accra Connection?.

The creativity Georgina seems to be injecting in her job as Manager of Tic Tac is good example for all artiste managers in Ghana and Africa as a whole to emulate. That is the only way Ghana music can get there. Somebody must be there to work professionally in jobs the artiste can?t do or is too busy to do.

Who says Ghana has no good artiste managers? There are a lot of them out there refusing to be creative though they are good. ?Georgina believes ?an artiste must not be more creative than the manager else the manager does not deserve a penny for wages?.

This is my candid advice to all artistes in Ghana and in Africa. If you want your music to grow then never hire a manager who is only busy when you get a new idea.
