Winners emerge as African Music Stars glow at AFRIMA 2017

The battle for supremacy at the fourth annual All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, came to an end on Sunday, November 12, 2017 as winners emerged in the thirty-four categories of the award hosted by African American Senegalese superstar, Akon and Paris based Cameroonian, Sophy.

It was a night to remember for Wizkid (Nigeria) as he won three awards in the Artiste of the year; song of the year; and Best Male Artiste in West Africa categories. Toofan (Togo), AliKiba (Tanzania) and Gilad Milo (Kenya) went away with two awards each; Gilad won two awards in the Best Male Artiste in Inspirational and Best Artiste in African Rock.

AliKiba went with Best African Collaboration and Best Artiste or Group in African RnB & Soul while Toofan won Best Africa Group and Best Artiste in African Pop.

Bagging an award each on the night include; 2baba (Nigeria) Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Simi (Nigeria), Wande Coal (Nigeria), Ycee (Nigeria), Orezi (Nigeria), Montess (Cameroon), Locko (Cameroon), Nandy (Tanzania), Eddy Kenzo (Uganda), Ibitssam Tiskat (Morocco).

Others are Shayfeen (Morocco), Thandiswa (South Africa), Emtee (South Africa), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Asikey (Nigeria), Neza (Rwanda), Toofan (Togo), Nduduzo Mhakatini (South Africa), Nsoki (Angola), Halmelmal Abate (Ethiopia), The Dogg (Namibia), Adaza Cookey (Nigeria), Shyn (Madagascar), DJ Coublon (Nigeria) bagged one award each.

Music legends Oliver Mutikudzi (Zimbabwe) and Salif Keita (Mali) received an AFRIMA legendary Award each.

As expected, the sold-out AFRIMA 2017 event with glamorously dressed went into frenzy with scintillating performances from Toofan (Togo), Vector (Nigeria), Emtee (South Africa), Ewube (Cameron), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Thandiswa (South Africa), Harrysong (Nigeria), Rue (Zimbabwe), Ed Isaac (Nigeria), Nsoki (Angola), Falz (Nigeria), Qritical (Kenya), Simi (Nigeria), Henok & Mehari Brothers (Ethiopia), Sheyi Shay (Nigeria), Ycee (Nigeria), Becca (Ghana), Montess (Cameroon), Gilad Milo (Kenya), Locko (Cameroon).
