‘Praye’ group on sanitation campaign

One of Ghana’s hottest groups of hip-life artistes has embarked on a sanitation campaign to help Ghana maintain clean and healthy environment in the various communities. Watch Run Run Somethings by Praye

The group, which comprises Nana Kwame, Steven Fiawoo and Eugene Baah Kente known in the showbiz as Praye Tenten, Praye Tietia and Praye Ho Ne Ho respectively, were invited by Zoomlion Ghana Limited to collaborate with it to help in the campaign for the total eradication of malaria in Ghana.



The song they have composed for the campaign is entitled, “Next To Cleanliness is Godliness”, featuring Koo Fori of Efie Wura, a TV drama series.



They used their showbiz names as symbols in the song to educate people, the Praye Tenten was described as the broom used in sweeping the bedrooms and the corridors; the Praye Ho Ne Ho for compounds and the Praye Tietia for scrubing the bathrooms.

In an interview with The Saturday Statesman, ‘Praye Ho Ne Ho disclosed that the campaign was part of their quota in helping the government to kick off malaria in this country. “Reports on malarial cases are alarming. Malaria is one of the most killer diseases so with this massive campaign with Zoomlion, there is going to be a vast change in the current state of sanitation”.



According to him, their aim as artistes was not just to entertain people, but also to use the music in other forms to transform society. “We will therefore advise our fellow musicians not only to entertain people with their songs, but also undertake projects that will be beneficial to society.”
