The recent exploits of artists based in northern Ghana have caught the attention of some well-established ones as Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
Both northern heavyweights Maccasio and Fancy Gadam have pulled record crowds at the Tamale stadium in recent months. Maccasio’s Too Big, on which he features dancehall singer Shatta Wale, as well as Work, which has rapper Kofi Kinaata on it, are steadily garnering appeal on mainstream radio. It is therefore not surprising that many industry persons are fingering the two northern giants as likely picks.
Speaking to the press upon his arrival from his historic Australia tour, Stonebwoy expressed his willingness to work with northern artists. He shared his intention of featuring top artist from northern Ghana as a way of affording them a wider platform of sorts.
The Go Higher star is currently in Tamale for performance, and it is expected that initial steps toward the plan will take place during his trip there.
