Ghana Forward Amida Brimah has taken a swipe at the West African nation’s government due to a lack of investment in basketball in the country.

This came via a statement on his Twitter page and also alluded to his willingness to play for Ghana once the central body invests in the sport.

Despite being immensely popular among the country’s youth at the High School and Tertiary education levels, basketball continues to struggle for investment. This has prevented a talented base from even competing in international competitions.

“If the Ghan(a)ian government Invest in basketball like the (y) do (in) football even half the investment. We will all come represent Ghana no question” he wrote on his page.

Brimah is recovering from an ACL tear suffered as he prepared for the 2019-2020 season in the NBA Gatorade League with Fort Wyane Mad Ants.

The 25 year old won the national championship during his time at University of Connecticut. He won the Gatorade League title in 2018 with Austin Spurs.

He has featured for NBA teams-San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers- in previous preseason campaigns.
