One of di frontrunners for di New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential race for Ghana don withdraw from di race.

Former Trade Minister, Alan Kyerematen tok for statement say im no go contest again.

Di announcement dey come di night before di party go ballot for top five candidates wey go battle di 4 November primaries.



Before now, one candidate, former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko bin don withdraw from di race as im tok say some irregularities go on for di initial super delegates conference wey cut down di number of aspirants from ten to five.

Alan Kyerematen explain say di NPP leadership don dey support di establishment candidate (di vice president, Mahamudu Bawumia) wey dem give unfair advantage.

E add say, di incident for di super delegates conference wey dem injure im polling agent for eyes dey unfortunate.

“Intimidation, collusion plus acts of violence happun for di August 26 voting across di 16 regions.”

Alan tok say e no get hope say di party go solve dis issues before di next round of voting, na why im dey “withdraw from di process.”

“I go announce wetin I go do afta di withdrawal for di coming weeks. I also go tok di role I go play for Ghana politics afta I consult wit my family and interest groups.”

Alan withdrawal mean say na only four candidates dey battle for di final delegates conference wey go elect di flag-bearer on 4 November.

Dis no be di first time Alan Kyerematen dey take a decision like dis one sake of party primaries.

For 2008, na so im resign for di party as e lose di primaries to Nana Akufo-Addo, wey dem convince am before e come back.

Tori dey fly say im wan resign again den go independent ahead of di 2024 general elections.

But pipo for di party don advise am say make im no do am.

Di party go hold dia final delegates conference on 4 November.

Di winner go face opposition national democratic congress (NDC) candidate John Mahama for election 2024.
